Reduce Relearn Reimagine – The Three Rs of Pain

Almost every week at the Centre I hear:

  • I am falling apart.  It must be because I am getting older.
  • I didn’t sleep well the pain was so bad.
  • If I don’t use it, I am going to lose it.
  • It worked in the past, why is it not working now.
  • Everything I read says I need to lift weights…and every time I do…my pain increases.
  • I wake up in so much pain, what’s the point of getting out of bed…it’s only going to get worse.

Every person has compensatory strategies.  Movement patterns that have worked so well in the past.  There comes a time where those strategies don’t work anymore.  Pain, anxiety, depression and negative self talk are some of the many types of results we experience when our compensatory strategies stop working.

I have developed a program based on my core values—education, motivation, inspiration and transformation.

This is where the concept of the three rs was born.  Out of my deep desire to teach people how to reduce pain…all different types in their lives.

Compensatory strategies that are no longer serving you.

Movement…self talk…unbalanced energy spenders…things that affect the invisible parts of who you are (the koshas)

How to change the way you move through life to establish new patterns.  This is an  inside job.  Building your proprioception and interoception.  It is in your head—just not the way you think it is.  New research in neuroscience and pain is showing that we have the ability to change our pain response.

This is your why.  What could your life be if you were not always reacting to pain?  Come in curious and willing to expand the flexibility of your self and your beliefs.

  • 4 weekly classes
  • Weekly emails with information and videos.
  • Weekly yoga nidra practices.
  • A half hour private yoga therapy session with Laurie-Anne
